- Mozart Requiem Workshop 28 March Hereford
-
Date Posted: Sat, 14 Mar 2026
Roger Langford is holding a workshop on Mozart’s Requiem on Saturday 28 March.
He says: "We have about 25 keen singers signed up (thank you), and it would be great if we could get up to forty plus on the day. It costs £15 (or £17 if requiring a copy of the music), is on Saturday 28th March, lasts 3 hours (2.00-5.00pm), is at St. Martin’s Church Hall, 89 Ross Road, Hereford HR2 7RJ (in what3words - shout.keep.give) and includes tea and homemade cakes in the interval (which seems to have been the highlight of previous workshops!!). There is enough music to get our vocal ‘teeth’ into, but not too much as to run out of time to cover it all. I have conducted this work on many occasions, and, being a professional singer and teacher, can offer insights and help into how to better sing this and all choral music."

I do hope you enjoyed the experience of the last Sing for Fun day and wonder if you would be interested in coming to this year’s event next Saturday, 28 February, to sing through John Rutter’s Requiem. -
Date Posted: Sun, 22 Feb 2026
Love singing? Come along to Worcester Festival Choral Society’s 2026 Come & Sing one-day choral workshop in the heart of historic Worcester, for a chance to learn Sir William Walton’s thrilling cantata, Belshazzar’s Feast.
For printable details: Download our PDF leaflet BELOW
ABOUT THE DAYThis dramatic work, composed in 1931 for an eight-part chorus, transports us to the opulent, extravagant city of Babylon, where the stage is set for dramatic downfall of its decadent ruler, Belshazzar.
The day will be under the expert baton of Worcester Cathedral's renowned Director of Music, Samuel Hudson, with piano accompaniment from Worcester Cathedral's outstanding Assistant Director of Music, Nicholas Freestone.
As well as the singing sessions, you’ll enjoy vocal tips, musical insights and take part in an informal performance – all in the company of around 150 other musically minded people. In the afternoon there will be an informal performance with soloist, which participants' guests can attend free of charge.
You don't need choral experience to take part, but an ability to read music is useful. There will be plenty of refreshment breaks to relax and socialise. Plus, as always, you can choose from an array of homemade cakes and pre-orderable lunches to tempt the tastebuds.
Doors open for registration from 9.30am, with singing sessions starting from 10:15am. The day will then finish by 4.45pm.
ENTRY BY PRE-BOOKED TICKET ONLY. Tickets are £24 (adults) and £12 (students), which includes score loan and free teas/coffees throughout the day.

There isn’t loads of rehearsal time, and they would want chorus members to really enjoy the experience, and make an awesome sound, rather than feel out of their depth.

If you would be able to hit the ground running, ideally as a confident sight-reader and/or you’ve sung these pieces before, follow the link for more details and how to book.
