Come and Sing with Bob Chilcott!

    Saturday 28th February 2026, 9.30am – 4.30pm
    St Editha's Church, Tamworth, B79 7DA

Described by The Observer as “a contemporary hero of British Choral Music”, Bob has become one of the most widely performed composers of choral music in the world. Bob has enjoyed a lifelong association with choral music, as a chorister and choral scholar in the choir of King’s College, Cambridge, and as a member of the King’s Singers.  He became a full-time composer and conductor in 1997, and has composed a large catalogue of choral music which is published by Oxford University Press.  His most often performed pieces include Can you hear me?, A Little Jazz Mass, Requiem, and the St John Passion. Two major works have received their world premiere in 2025 – The Rainbow, commissioned by Choralis and The Children’s Chorus of Washington, and Mass for Peace and Resolution at the 2025 Three Choirs Festival.
Join us for a wonderful singing day under Bob’s leadership as he introduces us to one of these new works ‘The Rainbow’ (2025), as well as ‘Five Passion Hymns’ from his St John Passion. All music will be provided on the day.
All music will be provided on the day.

  • The Greatest Sing @ Malvern 3 Counties 31 January 2026
  •
  •  Date Posted: Sun, 5 Oct 2025
To all the members of Malvern Festival chorus and their friends and family, from Yvette Pigott

I hope that you don't mind me contacting you, I was hoping that your choir members and friends and family may be interested in supporting this event for our local charity, on 31st January 2026?
It is being held not far from you, at the Malvern Three Counties Showground.

My name is Yvette Pygott, I am one of the trustees for a charity called The Anna Wilkinson Mockingbird trust (https://www.theannawilkinsonmockingbirdtrust.co.uk/) based locally in Worcester. (Ombersley)
We support young people age 16-25 with a cancer diagnosis and arrange memorable events/days out for them and their loved ones.

Currently we are arranging a fund raising day, teaching 1000 people to sing a harmony medley based on the music from the Greatest Showman, on 31st January 2026, at Malvern 3 Counties Showground.
We will spend the day learning the medley, no previous singing experience needed!

Then, at the start of the evening, there will be a community show, which will feature locally sourced Acts from the Worcester area. At the end of the show, the 1000 voices will stand (if they can) and perform their medley as the finale.

We are very excited about this and feel confident that it is going to be a fabulous day.

I wondered whether this would be an event that your members would be interested in supporting and coming along to, at the end of January, when we all need a little joy!

I have attached our poster and our promo video, featuring Malcolm Boyden from BBC Hereford and Worcester(he is our Ringmaster) and the feet of all the charity Trustees!

I hoped that you would consider helping us promote our event by adding our poster to your events page and possibly your members social page? No worries if you are not keen to do this.

Here is the link to the ticketing website, with more information.https://bit.ly/thegreatestsing

    Very Best wishes,

    Yvette Pygott

  • Come & Sing Day Saturday 7 March 2026
  •
  •  Date Posted: Sun, 7 Sep 2025
This is a message from Hanley Voices:

    Hello singers!

We hope you’ve enjoyed the summer break.

The Autumn singing term starts again for many of us this week & we’re now starting to plan for our next Come & Sing day in March.

The music we have chosen are most definitely considered all time popular classics. The first piece of music is ‘Songbird’ written by Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac.
Songbird is from the legendary Fleetwood Mac album ‘Rumours’, one of the best selling albums of all time.
We have found a lovely 4 part harmonic version of this beautiful song.

The second piece of music is ‘When I’m 64’ written by Lennon & McCartney of the Beatles & is known for both its charming & nostalgic style. It’s from The Beatles’ influential album ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’.
Again, we have found a lovely 4 part harmonic version of this lovely classic song.

As I write this, we realise our 2026 sing day has a love theme! And two very different styles of singing about love, what a treat!

    Poster attached.

The event will again be at Hanley Castle High School, nr Upton upon Severn, 10am - 4pm, registration from 9.30am.
Tea & coffee will be available throughout the day & will be complimented with homemade cake in the afternoon tea break.
You will need to bring a packed lunch.

The cost of the day is £25 - this includes the music which will be yours to keep.

This will be the 7th year that Anthony will led the day - he is back by popular demand.

As our sing day last year was so popular, we have already started taking reservations  (payment will be due in November & we’ll send out reminders & payment info nearer that time).

If you would like to reserve a place, please let us have the following information:

    Your name
Preferred voice part - sop 1 or 2, alto 1 or 2, tenor, bass

If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Best wishes

    Lynette & Richard
