  • Call out for singers to accompany Bridges of Light artwork
  •
  • Date Posted: Sun, 23 Aug 2026

We are hoping that you might be able to help. Bridges of Light, a two-day light festival, is back in Worcester in October and Illuminos artists, Matt and Rob Vale, are seeking singers to help create a soundscape that will accompany their artwork for the festival.

The artists are looking for individual singers (adult/18+) ideally with some experience in choirs or vocal groups, a range of voices and styles and with an openness to collaborative creation. Whilst interested singers do need to be comfortable holding their own part in a small ensemble, they don’t need to be a soloist to take part.

Working with the artists, this newly formed group of singers will create and perform an original choral soundscape in just one day, which will then be woven into the visuals of Seven Echoes; a large-scale light projection onto Worcester bridge.

We would really appreciate it if you could please pass on our request to your choir members. Anyone interested in taking part will need to register their interest via Severn Arts online form
The only commitment is to spend Saturday 19 September from 10am – 4pm at St Swithun’s Church, Worcester, WR1 2RH, firstly to take part in rehearsals and then the recording of the musical phrases created. Interest should be registered by 13 September 2026.

More information can be found on our website. We also very much hope anyone involved will come along to Bridges of Light on 28 or 29 October in Worcester city centre to see and hear the completed installation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this further before sending on to your members.

    Many thanks,
    Rachel Smith
