Our choir rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7.45 to 9.30 pm in The Chase School hall during term times. They start in early September and finish in June, just before the date of our summer concert.
During the evening we have a break for refreshments and to catch up on choir and friends’ news. News is posted on a notice board as well as on our website.
Music is available for hire for a nominal charge at the first couple of rehearsals each term, so there is no need to buy music unless you want to.
New members are greeted by Vivianne Austen, our Membership Secretary, and she aims to introduce them to someone in their voice part who can act as a “buddy”, make them feel welcome and show them the ropes!
New for the 2016-17 season:
- The first rehearsal of each season, in September, will be a social with sing-through. We’re hoping that new members will come along to try us out at this rehearsal. We also recognise that friends in the choir have a lot to catch up on after the summer break so we hope this style of first week back will enable them to do so without being tempted to talk during rehearsal.
- Separate voice part rehearsals, facilitated by Voice Part Reps, if members feel it is necessary.
